Quote #15

“We all have creativity.”

I think that this is a true statement and that it is possibly for us to develop something that is marvelous. It is the process of digging deep and looking into things that we have not thought of before so that we can do this.

Quote # 14

“Try, try again.”

I am back at school now finishing up my final year of school (actually just 2 semesters cause I will be done in the Fall), but I like this quote because it helps to remind you to never give up. There can always be hope and miracles if you believe and put an effort in to receiving them. Try try again because there can certainly be success. I hope this semester goes well.

Quote # 13

“Patience means active waiting and enduring. It means staying with something and doing all that we can—working, hoping, and exercising faith; bearing hardship with fortitude, even when the desires of our hearts are delayed. Patience is not simply enduring; it is enduring well!”

-President Uchtdorf

I heard this in President Uchtdorf’s recent conference talk and learned a lot from his words. I have always told people that patients is my weak point, and I tend to use that as an excuse too. I learned that there are many things that one needs to do to have patiences. One of the hardest things is to also understand that with our trials and problems that we have to endure, we should learn what to do to endure them well. Keep a positive outlook and understand that there is a reason for all things. Where do you need to improve on your patiences?

Quote # 12

“Once you choose hope, anything’s possible.”
-Christopher Reeve

I guess I am on a cancer focusing roll, but that is what is most dominant in my life. We all remember Christopher Reeve and his battle and I think that this quote is marvelous for him to say. Hope is what every turns into. Hope that tomorrow will be better, hope that you can make it until tomorrow, hope that you will be remembered, hope that you will get better, hope that doctors will know what to do. I hope that my dad will overcome all of this. What do you hope for?

Quote #11

“Nothing matters unless it is eternal.”

-Anonymous

I kind of wanted this quote to work with my podcast that I posted. It took me a while in life to realize that somethings in life just are not that important. Things such as family, friends, religion, education… those are things that count. They are eternal. You never realize how good things are until they get bad. I never realized how much I love and need my family until my dad was diagnosed with his cancer, then I realized what happens if this is his end? What relationship do we have together? What will I miss most? What will happen next? When will I see him again? “Nothing matters unless it is eternal!” Brother Randall talked about this quote in my graphic design class as he talked about how sometimes in life we are too consumed with just “stuff”, the stuff that does not matter or mean anything. Clothes, cars, houses, money, television, while all these things are great, they are not going to matter once we are gone. It is not something that will last forever. We need to de-clutter our lives and put the things that will last first. I love my dad and I do not like to think about how everything has suddenly changed, but it is the good times and moments that over power the bad things that have happened, they are things that are eternal. What is eternal in your life? Do you have too much “stuff”?

Quote # 10

” We give more value to the things in our lives that have perceived value compared to the ones that have real value.”

-Shawn Randall

I was in my graphic design class and we were talking this social experiment conducted by the daily post. The had Joshua Bell, the number 3 best violinist in the world, play one of the most complex and best symphony’s by Bach in the D.C metro station to see if anyone would value his talent compared to what they were already doing as more important. Hardly anyone stopped to listen to this man who the days prior sold seats to his concert for $100 as a the least expensive seat. No one but the occasional few, who even then did not say long. Randall then questioned what we value and why we would or would not stop to listen. It could be one of the best things in the world that we could hear, but would we know that and would we care to listen? Is what we were planning on doing more important than that? Where do we value things?

The article of Bell can be found here.

Quote # 9

“The world we live in is just as great as the one we created”

-Oscar Winner

I heard this quote while the Oscar’s was on tv. I think that this was a good one because it just makes me wonder about all the amazing things that are on this earth that has been created. He and his team won the award for creating the computer version of Avatar and I just thought about all the work that went into trying to develop this word. What do you think of this world? Do you respect all the amazingness it has to offer us?

Quote # 8

“Service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on earth.”

-Muhammad Ali

I have been thinking a lot lately about what I have been doing with my time and wondering why it all goes by so fast.  I came across this article about service and then I also thought that this is something I could be doing with some of my time that I really have not been doing enough of. I knew it would be nice to share my encouragements for my acts of services so I found this powerful quote by Ali. Why do you think he said this? Is this what you believe also?

Quote # 7

“If you don’t invest very much, then defeat doesn’t hurt very much and winning is not very exciting.”

-Dick Vermeil

This quote is suppose to be an inspiring athletic quote to encourage players to give it there all and I thought it was great. I also think that it can apply to all of us in whatever activities we choose to be involved in. Anything we do takes some sort of invent that we hope will result with some sort of victory and like Vermeil said, the success and winning is not as exciting if it isn’t something that we were fully involved in.

What do you think? Does defeat really not hurt if you do not invest much?
